Same info as other posters except I called them and played along with the scam. Gave fake name, fake age and fake last four digits of SS number. Sure enough the dude with heavy middle eastern accent comes back on the line with my case number and after a long series of scripted questions says I owe $11,780. He asks if i would like to pay and stay out of court. I tell him of course I would. He transfers me to another dude with a heavy middle eastern accent who asks me if I want to pay and I say yes of course. Then he asks how much I owe so I told him $7.80. He told me to go to the local IRS office and pay then he hung up. It was actually fun to tie up one of their lines for 20 minutes and F with them. Man I have too much free time on my hands.. ;-p
Scam IRS call stating that a lawsuit has been filed against me for back taxes. The fools just won't give up, added the number to the call blocker, they have been calling 3 times a day for a week.
This number calls from 803-305-9772 and 415-521-6719 first of all the IRS is not going to call you and leave a message saying your going to be sued, they already announced this on their website so for these people calling trying to scam nothing good will come to any of them and I pray they get caught and get locked up for all the dirty things their doing!
Go on the IRS website, and they have an IRS impersonator scam button, where you can report who is calling you. It also says they will not call and demand immediate payment, or send police, etc, so it feels satisfying to read that, plus, I filed the 415-521-6719 number with them, then called those guys back and told them, I reported them
