Scam IRS call stating that a lawsuit has been filed against me for back taxes. The fools just won't give up, added the number to the call blocker, they have been calling 3 times a day for a week.
I received two voicemail messages from this number today...so annoying. Why can't anything be done to stop these people? I've been getting at least one call per day (different numbers) for the past week. Frustrating! Thanks for your post!
Same info as other posters except I called them and played along with the scam. Gave fake name, fake age and fake last four digits of SS number. Sure enough the dude with heavy middle eastern accent comes back on the line with my case number and after a long series of scripted questions says I owe $11,780. He asks if i would like to pay and stay out of court. I tell him of course I would. He transfers me to another dude with a heavy middle eastern accent who asks me if I want to pay and I say yes of course. Then he asks how much I owe so I told him $7.80. He told me to go to the local IRS office and pay then he hung up. It was actually fun to tie up one of their lines for 20 minutes and F with them. Man I have too much free time on my hands.. ;-p
