I am getting calls from the same person now and I know I don't owe the IRS anything. I reported them/her.
If you know you don’t owe taxes or have no reason to believe that you do, report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) at 1.800.366.4484 or at www.tigta.gov.
The latest in a stream of "Internal Revenue Service" enforcement scams. I've been calling back after they call several times and letting them know that impersonating the Internal Revenue Service is fraud and that I am reporting their number to the Office of the Attorney General. When I called Ms. Heather Gray back (yep, she can sure speak S....L....O...W...L...Y... to try to make you think she's important), I first got a message that the call was unable to be completed as dialed, and then got a message saying that "all circuits were busy". Obviously, I blocked the number. As I am in a payment arrangement for repayment of tax obligations with the IRS (from a job change that included withdrawing a portion of my retirement account), I know what it's like to talk with the IRS, and the steps they will take LONG before they ever take enforcement action with a local sheriff's department. And guess what, Ms. Gray? It doesn't include a phone call first!
Got two messages from this number today and am not even going to bother calling back. A couple weeks ago I got another scam call and ignored it as well. They gave up after the second non-response. Hoping these clowns will take the hint.
I got the same message after 3rd time. I asked what years are in question he said 2012 and 2013, Laughed and said will send the cops on. As you can see this is a few ours later, and I am able to write a response about this number. Scam reported scam already. IRS will not call you and it against the law here in the USA. That debit collectors cannot harsh you
It doesn't matter what you're doing with the IRS - This is NOT the IRS - They are frauds - good to report them but has nothing to do with owing or not owing.
