File a fraud alert with the credit reporting agencies and also get your credit card number changed. I think these people are credit card thieves. Since they can spoof your phone number, they can call your credit card provider and make it look like the call is coming from your phone. I think all they need is the last four digits of your credit card to access your account. That is one racket, asking for your card number is another. If you reported your card stolen, they should not be able to do anything with it and hopefully they will get caught when they try to buy something with it.
My new approach is to pretend interest and, when they ask for my credit card information, tell them I have to go find the credit card. Then I let them sit and wait while I work on the computer or do something else. In a couple of cases (after they've waited several minutes) I tell them I am on the Do Not Call list and never had any interest in their so-called service.
Same story here. I wish people see this site when they get an unknown and unwanted call like this especially on their cell phone. I answered it without seeing the number and once the pitch started I just hung up. Hope they learn their lesson not to disturb people with such nuisance call.
I received an automated call from them advertising lower interest. When I pressed 1 to speak with a human, "Stacy" answered.
She asked if I was responding to the "call about lowering your interest rate". I said "Hi Stacy, thank you for speaking with me. Yes I am."
She asked me if I owed more than $4,000 in credit card debt. I said "Actually, I'm on the national Do Not Call list, so...."
She then said "Ok" then immediately hung up on me.
When I called back, it went to a voicemail box with a recorded message saying "key in your phone number and press pound to be put on our Do Not Call list". And the voicemail box was full, too!
These are scammers, spamming innocent people for money. They should be shut down for spamming thousands of people while ignoring the Do Not Call list.
Got this call and tried to call back, it said "this is in reference to a solicitation call, if you want to be taken off the call list key in your number" before you can do it it says the mail box is full and hangs up.
