What a great scam call. I picked up when this number called. The recorded message claimed they had 'sent me paperwork' and that they were 'authorized by my credit card companies' to call me about lowering my interest rate something about 1 percent (lower? or total, I couldn't tell). Then I could press 1 to talk to a representative and 9 to be removed from their call list. I pressed 9. Very creepy and illegal sounding.
Got a call today, asking if anyone in my house was Diabetic, and that they are from the Diabetic Health Initiative, giving away free Glucose machines that one does not have to prick ones finger. I asked how he got my #, since its new, he said from the Diabetes Assn, I told him that was impossible, then he said Medicare,I refuted that also. So he wanted me to give him the Medicare ID #, so he could submit the claim to Medicare. SERIOUSLY!!! So, if its free why should one give any information or if he was telling the truth he would have garnered all that information from either of his named sources. Lesson learned: listen to your gut.
