Employment verification for Lending Club - legitimate call

Yes, this was a legitimate call from Lending Club to confirm employment information on loan application.

"Richard" asked for an employee but couldn't pronounce the last name. When I asked what it was regarding, he said it was a personal matter.

Apparently this is a legit company...funny thing is, Richard asked if the employee was affiliated with a person who fraudulently obtained our employee's info years ago.
