caller left message saying to return call about problem with your income tax. Called back and hung up twice. Number is calling from private residence on Nicasio Valley Road, in mtns outside San Francisco.
Reported to FTC. btw, IRS does not make phone calls to you, everything done by mail.
Guy called and said he was from IRS and to return call. Left a threatening message, could barely speak english.
Returned call to verify and they had wrong number. I think the IRS or any Fed agency should call these jokers.
I also received threatening calls from these east India scammers claiming to be the IRS "investigation division". Fake names used include: Alex Watson, Michael Carter and Ann (Fake operator number 100184182) They also gave me a fake case number 295345. They tell me there is a warrant out for my arrest and I'm going to be arrested in my jurisdiction tomorrow for ". . .wolations of the wax code". Oh brother.
Rcvd call from 415.662.8528 and was told to call back w/ the case number he gave me and ask for Michael Carter, investigator w/ IRS in San Francisco, Re Deficit of Payment. The scammer/caller (Asian, probably Indian, accent), could not understand the question, "how much do I owe?" -- he said, "eye oh - huh?" He first asked for my lawyer's name/number. I called the number back and it just beeped -- didn't ring, beeped, as when a call is made to a foreign country.
