I think it a real person - a real scammer, probably working from outside the US and using a Magic Jack phone number to hide his real location. He doesn't know where North Carolina is, or South Carolina is, or California is,
Its the Overpayment scam. He will offer to pay full price for your item plus a shipping fee. You are to cash his check then wire the shipping fee to a shipper he selected. Your wire transfer goes through instantly. His check is a well-made forgery and takes months to bounce. You bank makes you pay back the entire amount of his check, including the shipping fee, plus a fee for depositing a bad check. The purchaser and his friend the shipping firm split the shipping fee you sent.
Has tried with me today, wants to include shipping w/ full price. Says will send cashiers check. Stating he is hearing impaired and can only communicate via text, & email. His email is dr_sam32@lycos. Com. Thanks to you all for your warnings.
