I got a voicemail at my work number saying my MasterCard Debit card had been deactivated and to call them back to reactivate it. I don't even have that card. Needless to say I did not call back.
I am receiving calles from 415-707-0560 several times a day. When I answer there is no one at the other end. When I let it go to voicemail no messages are left. I did try to call back but received automated message about it was an echo verifying phone lines.
Received a call today from James claiming to be with 411 Direct Link Business Directory (415-707-0560). James said he had spoke with the president of the company and that the pres referred him to me. James stated that it was time to renew our listing in their directory. When I asked for the company website so I could see what he was talking about, he said there wasn't one, which I thought was odd. James then told me that if I wanted to cancel, I could do right now and would be invoiced later. WHAT?! So, I get billed for renewing AND for cancelling??? That makes no sense! James continued to say - no, no, it doesn't cost anything to cancel, we just bill you one more invoice. That's when I told him this doesn't sound legit and that everything he was telling me sounded like a scam, and I hung up with him. Please watch out for these type of scams!!!! If you don't recognize the company name, and especially if they can't give you a website to look at, HANG UP!!! Do not say "yes" to anything!!!
This number was also used in a scam trying to sell puppies and saying they were in Kansas and would ship me the puppy. Be careful whenn buying puppies online...lots of scams.
