Yes, we receive these calls frequently here at the prison in Egypt. They are welcomed by all inmates and provide some well needed humor in these days of incarceration and execution.
Seriously, it's the price you pay for subscribing to a trade "magazine" (very few are actually printed anymore, they usually come via email with a Qmags format or something like that). It's not too bad a price, if you can ignore them, considering the value of some of these publications. If you subscribe to a trade rag, they usually send you a link via email to continue or cancel your subscription so you don't need to talk to these trolls. If you sign up through the troll network, however, they will call you forevah cuz they get paid for each sign-up. And they will send your name contact info to their friends.

When I am called, and it was twice in a row in my case, there was silence on the other end of the line, the other end eventually hanging up within a minute.
Called again.. asking for an employee who does not work here. Funny it is the second time I got a call asking for this person. When I told the woman he was no longer with the company she wanted to speak to the maint. manager. I hung up on her.
