Received a call from them today 3/29/03. They said they were collecting for homeless veterans. I told them I'd make a contribution--they'll mail me literature for mailing them the contribution
Recorded voice made to sound as if you are talking to a real person actually tricked me for a moment. The voice said they were calling for a veterans charity. I asked for a supervisor, the recording did not know how to respond. I asked for contact information, the voice didn't respond quickly. It was like it was doing a google search for the answer. It responded with a phone number. I asked for an address and it responded with a URL address. I asked for a street address and it responded with Washington DC. Between each question it paused like it was googling the answer. I told it that it sounded suspicious to me and asked if it would like to donate to my charity. It replied no. I asked it why I should donate to it's charity if it wouldn't donate to mine. It paused and said it was sorry. It asked it's full name and it did tell me. I can't remember what it was, but it wouldn't spell it for me. I told it I was going to turn the number in off my callerID. It again said it was sorry. It was quite a conversation with a recording. Although, I have gotten into quite lengthy arguments with SIRI too.
On my caller ID from two hours ago. Tried calling back as I know several from San Francisco. No answer. Thank you for this site. I will ignore them now.
