Hello

I received a call from a person with an Indian accent who gave this number and identified himself as Max Roger from Instant Support. He wanted me log on to my computer and [***] problems. I told him that I was not stupid so asked for his return number and also asked how he got my details. He advised me that he got them when I registered my Microsoft products. Can you confirm whether this is correct? Is Microsoft giving out our detail when we register products?

I recieved a call 5 minutes ago. i think what they are trieng is to get you to do some work on your computer and than go online towards their website. as soon they are connected with your computer they will install a key logger or try to steel information from your computer like passwords en creditcard information. or they will install the mallacious software them self and will ask you to pay to get rid of the software or for the support. I

I have never ever read of microsoft calling me for free to give me support on my computer here in Holland. I think its a big scam of people somware in india who are trying to get your hard worked for money.

I just received a call from someone who identified himself as Peter (with a heavy accent) saying he was from My Instant Support.  He called my cell phone with a blocked number and knew my name.  He told me he was with technical support for Microsoft and wanted me to go to my computer because there was likely malware on it (though he didn't use the word malware).  I asked where he got my number and he said he had received it from when I registered my computer.  I asked him to mail or email me the information, but he insisted on working over the phone with me.  I pressed him for a number and had him spell the name of the company (since he was difficult to understand).  I have no doubt this is a scam.  I told him I would check the information out and if I was interested I'd call back.  As I hung up, he said, "Don't turn on your computer and go to the internet."  Aggressive tactics.
