I have had about 4-5 calls from this number over the last few weeks. I have coincidentally missed them all (I actually have several cousins and in-laws with SF phone numbers, so I thought it could be someone I actually know). But as noone ever left a message, and after reading all these posts, I blocked the number. Don't know who they are or what they want. I only know I'm not interested. Thanks for all the information!
Keep getting calls from this number. i always send to voicemail and Ill get a message of absolute silence. I called back from my cell (what they have been calling me on) today and a guy answered that said charter communications all calls may be recorded, I then hung up. Called back a couple seconds later from my work number and a guy answered and said Hello about 5 times and then hanging up. In the back ground I could hear a lot of people talking (like from a call center). I am a Charter customer (no other options in my area) but I HATE how much they call with these "special promos"
This is a phishing outfit trying to steal your I.D. Charter has noting to do with them. They try to get information from you by telling you they are from Charter and they want to make sure you are getting the best deal possible. The first problem, though, is that they ask YOU what services you currently have. That's a dead giveaway because if it actually was Charter, they'd know what your service is. Best advice is to never answer the call because just answering, even without you saying anything, tell them the number is a good one. Don't let them know that, or anything else.
