Thanks for the heads up. I use the call display and answering machine as a way to prescreen numbers I don't recognize when I'm at home. I have gotten the messages where it sounds like they're soliciting customers by enticing people with their low interest rates for credit cards.
In Winnipeg, MB. This number called a few days ago and said I had a Mastercard or Visa and I was eligible for lower interest rates or something. I told them I wasn't interested and hung up. They called back today but I didn't answer.
Yeah the East Indian guy seems to be gettin on my nerves too. Told him no one at home. Immediately he got off the phone scaring the livin s*** out of him as I acted blunt. I tried calling back the number but I received a prompt saying that the call dialed cannot be completed.
Our phone has a distinctive ring when calls are long distance. When we got the call this afternoon it was the distinctive long distance ring. I checked the caller ID and the phone number was a 416 (Toronto) number. That is not long distance for us. It's strange that a local number should ring as long distance, no? I didn't bother answering the phone.
