I received a call from this number at 1:45AM.....yes, the middle of the night! I have nothing to do with Hostway, never even heard of them until I received this call. By the time I got to the phone, my voicemail picked up - I received only part of the message..."transferred to our security department to activate your account" was the part of the recorded message left on my machine.
I did not answer and they left no message.
I called back using *67 and got a male recorded voice stating it was FIDO customer feedback pulse and that they are currently collecting feedback from a recent visit to in store FIDO. And that they will be calling me back.
Now I did not visit a FIDO booth or whatever but maybe my teenage daughter did in any I case I'll block that number.
I rec'd a call from the same number on Nov-2,2007 at around 6.30pm, and a lady spoke and asked 2 questions with regard to another cellphone connection we took 2 days back.
Q#1) Where did you activate your new phone (in store/online/call center)?
Q#2) Did the customer care representative give walk you thru all the details of the plan you took ?
We answered the Qs, and she thanked and cut the call.
Then, I called FIDO (18884813436) and enquired reg. the call. He said "Yes, its an outside company working for FIDO to collect info reg. FIDO services".
I also received this call. If it is an outside company, then they could've called for any other company then Fido. Say it's Fido, I have nothing to do with them, so I don't understand why they are calling me... If it's not for Fido, then I don't know... but let me be simple: numbers I do not know and numbers that don't show up on my CallerID, I don't answer... if it's important, like the gouvernment or something like that, they will leave a message.. others just don't because it's some impersonnal computer making the calls.
I received a phone call from this number...twice actually...in two consecutive days...what is disturbing, not only that I had to go online to see if the "whereabouts" of this number was known...but the fact that the number was identified as an "unknown name"...out of courtesy, the least FIDO (NOW that I know WHO it was "supposedly" calling)could do is to identify themselves so not to cause any unnecessary worry or wonderment...to me it only seems reasonable to expect this nature of call to be "up-and-up "...in every way...
To be honest...I also have better things to do on Family Day...than track down a callers identification...
