All this would take is the FCC and the FTC to agree to make it illegal to FAKE or SPOOF caller ID info - then back it up with punishment that has 'teeth'.
The telephone companies HAVE the equipment to check the OUTGOING caller ID info and they should DENY the outbound call if the CALLER ID being sent out does NOT match the actual number of the caller.
Wouldn't that be funny if they got a message - "we're sorry - your call cannot be completed - please CORRECT your OUT BOUND caller ID information and please try your call again."
23rd spoofed number now stored into my phone with ringtone on "silent". Eastern eurotrash scam artists. They are sociopaths and have no concept of civil behavior. We need to track them down, and lock them up, because they show no empathy for their victims, and who knows what horrific acts they are capable of. Must be some kind of identity theft ring. Where are our lawmakers? Deport these scumbags!!!!!
Got a call from this number. Said it was trying to help elimate owed tax debts or liens put on me due to an owe credit. The prompts told me what I should do to go from there but if the IRS was calling me would they be calling from Canada...lol. I contacted the IRS and they explained that they are no associated with that number at all & give me information to report them. With times being so hard for so many why attempt to scam someone out of their hard earned cash....how about get a job instead of investing so much time & effort into scaming someone.
