I have had the same thing. Asks for my husband and when I say he is not there, he hangs up. When numbers I don't recognize ask to speak to my husband I now simply say 'No'. I've really confused a couple with that one.
Call from loud guy called himself Mark Rothlinsberg(?). "I know you weren't able to pull the trigger on my recommendation last time but I have something really outstanding..(click)"
Now that the Canadian Anti-spam email legislation has come into effect, how about we go back and put the telephone scammers out of business?
Got more or less the same thing, starts calling me John (I'm not john) says he remembers me from an impression I left with him during a conversation we had regarding an investment opportunity that I "just couldn't pull the trigger on" (same wording as Turnip's caller) regarding oil overseas. Funnily enough the phone died (portable). I was very interested in hearing more of the garbage he was about to vomit through the phone. I was hoping to get some company info or something I could use to report with. Maybe he'll call back.
Got the call today where he was asking for my husband. He said his name was Zach Smith. I called the number right back and it's out of service. Reverse look-up on 411.ca shows the name N. Lyall listed with that number. Why do people find joy in annoying others with these types of calls. I may never answer the phone again!
Zack Smith called me today as well. Quite a hoot, told me he was in San Juan Costa Rica and was selling futures on Heating Oil contracts. Quite a good talker and we had a good laugh but I tested him a bit as i speak Spanish, and when he realized I wasn't going to buy anything he said he'd phone me back.
