Got this call saying I had commited tax fraud.That I need a lawyer. John Parker supervisor. Sending me all the paper work I will need. Said they were the CRA as well. Sounded very suspicious. Can't believe that I spent as much time as I did on the phone with the jerk.
I just had 2 messages exactly same as the one above looks like it is a recording with a rude tone and accent. I just block the number to see if he starts calling from the other numbers. If it's a switch board number if you call back you'll get a hefty phone bill charge.
What do you mean by "switchboard number" because this is a Canadian number in the Toronto area, and where did you get the idea that a hefty phone bill charge would happen?
Just had a call from this number. Bad line and couldn't tell if it was live or recorded. I heard enough to figure out it was this CRA scam and hung up! These people need to get real jobs!!!
I got the exact same message as the first reporter on here. I have only received one call and I did not answer it just let it go to voicemail. They must be getting numbers from all over Canada from the phone book. I live in Alberta so it was strange as this is a new number for us and only because we are from Ontario and my kids school does not want to dial long distance in an emergency. It is a scam as CRA would never call you they just send you a letter in the mail and if you owe them money they will collect it at tax time or they also have other ways of getting their money back without calling you with a threat. My number is also on the national do not call list but they are some how getting through. I will be putting a complaint in with them about this number to have it blocked.
