Got this call saying I had commited tax fraud.That I need a lawyer. John Parker supervisor. Sending me all the paper work I will need. Said they were the CRA as well. Sounded very suspicious. Can't believe that I spent as much time as I did on the phone with the jerk.

An officer from Ontario called 3 times this morning. Left a message the last time stating we were in trouble unless we called back. If we didn'tm she wished us good luck. Heavy Jamaican accent. Maybe the Jamaican police is after us for not paying the $1000 they wanted so they could release the huge Jamaican lottery we won. It's not just 876 numbers, now they're in our own country. Something has to be done about these scammers. You have their numbers, hunt them down. Maybe Anonymous can find them, infiltrate their Network and melt their hard drives so they lose our numbers. Wouldn't that be poetic justice?
We received 2 messages from "Officer John Parks" on our answering machine today. Called back even though it was long distance. Different man answered "CRA", I told him I was returning their call, he asked if I was phoning from same #, I said yes. They have call display because he read off my #. I commented about how noisy it was in the background (definitely not Canada Revenue Agency, pretty sure they have voicemail & would not answer CRA). He didn't respond, just told me name of person he was calling for. Our number is unlisted so of course it was wrong, I told him he had wrong #, that I didn't appreciate threatening tone of messages that were left and said I will be reporting them to police. If they leave messages don't call back unless you want to blow out their eardrum with an air horn - which is probably the best punishment you can deliver!
Got the same call as everyone else about owing CRA money and that I would be going to jail for 3 months if I didn't pay. Weird part was that I actually did just get audited by the CRA and am just waiting to find out if I owe them money. I called his bluff and asked how much. He said $4500. I asked him for a break down of what years. He said from 2010 till now. I continued to ask him questions and answered his questions with false information (just for fun!!). Then I said I had to put him on hold while I grabbed my wallet. I set the phone down and proceeded to watch tv. Unfortunately my cordless phone died so I have no idea how long he actually waited!! Hopefully a long time!! Beware...the scammers are out there and they are getting better at it. Never give out any info over the phone unless you are 100% sure who they are.
