Got a call from CVB they tried telling me i owed 800 dollars for a virgin mobile phone I never got. They did not have my address and have called numerous times . She proceeded to give me the number1-800-900-2331 and told me it was virgin mobiles number but when you call it it says it is restricted. found out this number is a scam that calls people about debt to winning a prize. They have also gave me three addresses on different times i have talked to them where i am supposed to live. I never received any thing in the mail about this and the3y do not have my address. I believe this is a scam I once called the police to report the call and was told it was a scam and they where committing fraud.
this number: 1-416-482-7690 has been calling my house for the past week asking if the owner of the phone is home, as i reply no, but that i can take a message, and the operator kindly says "oh, no sorry there is no message" and slams the phone down.
this number was calling us for over a month as many as 7 times a day. The earliest was 7 in the morning with the latest at 10. I finally answered it - screaming at the with every profanity I could thing of and telling them to take my name off their list. The woman kept trying to talking demanding they want to talk to someone named William Wallet. I did not give her a chance to talk- swearing at her and screaming. She told me that she would start calling me earlier than 7 if I did not let them talk to Alphonso ( a different name than before). I told her to go for it and I will have her charged. She eventually hung up on me. I then started calling them a total of 3 times ( they kept hanging up on me).
It has been a week now and no calls. Might be worth a try.
I was getting several calls a day from these people (CBV) asking for someone I never heard of. I had been getting calls from other agencies asking for the same guy. Turns out the guy used to have my number, so now they're all calling me. What happens is that you can call the company to remove your name and most will do so. But then the organization looking for their money hires another collection agency and it starts all over again. I did call CBV to have my name removed and they removed it. I then called called Consumer Affairs (Ontario), see link below and this is what they said, if they start calling back (which they haven't - it's been a couple of months now): Write a letter to: CBV Collection Services Ltd., 100 Sheppard Ave. E., Toronto, ON M2N 6N5 and clearly state who you are with your phone number. You can explain why they shouldn't be calling you (ie: you're not the person they keep asking for) and tell them to remove your name from the list immediately. If not, you will be contacting the Ministry of Consumer Affairs to lodge a formal complaint against them. See the 2 links below for some good info on this whole topic. I've just started getting calls from 855-771-6107 and 905-771-6000 - seems this is spam and calling them back ends up with a charge on your phone. I downloaded a block program on my phone and added these numbers.

Adding to my previous post....what I said about having your name removed...that's if they're calling your number but obviously looking for someone you don't know, as it was in my case. However, even if they are calling you because you actually owe money to their client, they can't harass you.
