Yeah these people are [***] (trying not to sound too mean and watching my language). Calling at 7am through to 10pm, and now on weekends.
I did answer them once and found out I was in collections with a bank that I closed the account about 6 years ago. Not sure if this is a scam since the account was closed, but either the bank or these people are going to have to deal with a very angry man in a couple weeks.
...and they are the collection agents that people have mentioned.
These people are obnoxiously rude. Pathetically rude. Ive never ran across such rude telemarketers in my life. They call from 7am to 10 at night asking for someone who doesnt live here. I have told them time and time again that they have the wrong number and they get all huffy, accuse me of lying and hang up on me! Then they call me all over again the next morning and say the same thing. I finally got fed up and began calling them to see if I can get a manager, but NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE!! Its always a voice mail, and this morning, I finally got fed up and i called them back and left a mega pissed f- bomb mssg telling them to stop f'n calling they have the wrong f'n number. and yes they ARE rude. i called them b***hes too
Whomever this person or Company is, I hung up on them right away. Hopefully I will not get anymore calls. The comments from other people concern me as I don't need unnecessary calls from some idiots that somehow got my name by mistake
These people called my personal cell phone number asking for someone who's never had my phone number and never could've since it's a new one...Thankfully the woman that I was speaking with was polite and apologised for the error...At least she was better than the last few that called me and were blatently rude to me...
I get this call alot and one time I answered it and some woman with an Indian accent identified herself as CBV (at least that's what I heard) Collections. She asked for me by name and asked me to confirm my date of birth. I told her that I don't give that information over the phone several times, I told her no.
I still wasn't sure who they were and what they wanted.
She asked if I received the letter they sent, I replied "what letter, I never received any letter".
I asked her what this was regarding and all she said was it was to dicuss my credit.
"My credit" is very vague and could be anything. If this were legitimate, why wouldn't you specifically identify what aspect of my credit or which particular account you are calling about. SKETCHY!
Then she asked If I would confirm my date of birth again. After telling her again that I won't give that information over the phone to people I don't know or trust, her tone changed and she got angry (she's the one that had to be told several times and persisted) and said "fine then we will continue our proceeding and you will be hearing from our lawyers".
A few days later, the same number called again. I won't pickup. If it's so important, leave me a message.
