Call is legitimate (not spam) whether they're trying to sell you investments or trying to hire you to sell investments. They regularly call me whenever I make even minor updates on my online resumes, like they must have a notifier that tells them whenever any resume that has "accounting" or "finance" listed gets any kind of minor change, they call that person and try to get them to join their sales team. The job is a real one, if you want to be the person on the other end cold calling people to buy investments, but I have no idea of the details. I've never been interested, I'm an accountant, not a salesperson.
They're from Investor's Group - I told them that my parents weren't home (really they were looking for me). They call every night though, so I answered and they tried to get me to invest... I explained that I had no money and hung up - but they keep calling.
I received a call from them as well taht they saw my Resume in workopolis. They have some job oppertunity for me. What should I do now, call them back or ?
I got a call from these guys trying to get me to invest with them. I actually went to their presentation and, to me at least, it seemed a little to slick. Too many guys in power suits trying to convince you to move all your money over to them to manage. A little online research showed me that they have higher then average fees and that their funds seem to under perform compared to other investment firms. I decided not to do business with them, but the still call me. For those of you who got job offers from them, just remember that their investment adviser jobs are pure commission, there is no salary. So if you go to work for them you will spend a lot of time cold calling people trying to drum up business. From what I've read a lot of their advisers quit with in 2 years of starting. If you don't mind working purely on commission it might be ok for you but I personally wouldn't do it.
