Phones daily, likely an automatic dialer as there is nobody immediately available to respond upon my picking up the phone. After saying "hello" twice I hang up.
I got calls from this number daily, he said it's Direct Energy. I said we sold the house six months ago. He insist we fax proof of sales to 1-866-566-0934 or he will send a collection agency. It must be a scam.
I KEEP GETTING A PHONE CALL FROM THIS NUMBER, IT IS NOT IN SERVICE, I TRIED CALLING BACK. I GET THE SAME CALL FROM 3 DIFFERENT NUMBERS EVERY DAY 416-488-8181, 519-999-8686, 866-379-3222. AFTER GOOGLING ALL OF THESE NUMBERS THERE IS ALWAYS SOME REFERENCE TO DIRECT ENERGY, I DON'T KNOW WHY I KEEP GETTING THESE CALLS, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO!!! IF ANYONE ELSE GETS CALLS FROM ALL OF THESE NUMBERS POST SOMETHING
I receive calls from this number several times a day however I never answer when it's a number I don't recognize. You'd think the auto dialling would now declare my number invalid! If someone I know calls from a number not in my address book, they'll leave a message. Aside from clearing the cache of calls per day I never have to speak to a telemarketer.
A few people posting have said this call originates from Direct Energy. A warning note: Direct Energy has been in the news for the past few years regarding unsavoury practices. I believe it was Marketplace on cbc that did an expose on their high power sales techniques. Go to cbc.ca and type in Direct Energy for more information on this company, and beware!
