Things to remember about loans offered by phone or e-mail: (Pay attention to item #4!)
Loans
1. No reputable lender will lend you money over the phone.
2. No reputable lender will lend you money by e-mail
3. On-line lenders are nothing more than conduits for another loan scam.
4. Advance fees for loans are almost always illegal.
5. If you want to borrow money, go to an established brick and mortar lender that has been around awhile.
6. If you receive a call from someone with an Indian accent either a. threatening you or b. offering you something, you know it’s a scam and you should hang up immediately.
7. These people are predators, the calls are not random, they have information that they have bought from various sources and know your financial history. If you have ever taken out a pay-day loan, they have all your information. They know who they are calling. They like to pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and sometimes members of the immigrant community. Also, those who might be in financial difficulty.
8. Report them, the scammers are usually located in India and Pakistan.
Did you not read any of the other posts here? Please be careful if you get any more offers like this. Anytime you are asked to pay insurance or a "processing" fee, you are about to be scammed. See Avery Jennissen's post from 5 August in this same thread. I know it sounds bad to say, but in a way, you are lucky you only had $300. If you had more, that would be gone as well. The fact that a "company" would take $300 instead of $750 is a red flag as well.
On-line loans can be terribly risky. Please take care!
Got approved for 10.000 said 500 for security so I sent 500 and being g scammed he has answered every call I have mad and telling me he is waiting for an answer
Hi I to was looking for a loan, got a phone call from adam perth as well, same situation, except made me think and question my self. Offered me 10.000.00 with up front cost of 700.00 paid into two installments or 1900 in the same fashion, for upfront insurance.. told me when I was ready he would give the e transfer info. I called the number back to ask about interest. he said 9.9% and a package with all the info would be sent to me in the mail when the transaction was complete. Said I was i refused the first time, but when they resubmitted it was approved, another flag that got me thinking. Luckly I started googling and found this site about the phone number 416-567-8959, for Toronto, Ontario. It is a cell phone not a bus phone
