This number has been calling my business line for about 7 days several times a day. When I pick it up it is dead on their end and when I called it back the number is no longer in service.
I work as a psychic and got a funny feeling about the calls so I called CIBC Customer Care to inquire about the number and they gave me the number for the Corporate Switchboard. No one could identify the number as a CIBC number so I did a google search and found this thread http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/4167849499 . More people having the same problem.
I have called the Outbound Reassurance Line and they have confirmed that it is not a legitimate CIBC contact number. They have escalated my complaint to have their security team investigate it and suggest that if individuals receive enough of these calls to the point where it is harassment that they can report it to your local police department.
i keep getting calls from this number - i've not picked up, but they never leave a voicemail. it's getting very annoying. now that i've read these posts i'm going to pick up and see what they say
called once, hung up no message. called back and left a message with 2 numbers to call back: 888-296-3390 or 888-256-7722. after searching the 4167849499 (number that showed on the caller id) i found this board and others that complain about phone scams... i just applied for a mortgage so i think someone must have stolen my info from the application process and is using it to try to scam. i can't find anything on the other numbers.
some people have said that CIBC will confirm this number and others say they will not. not sure which opinion is correct, but i'm not answering a call from that number.
I called 1st line mortage to confirm this number and they did confirm that they currently have a insurance "sweep" for their clients and it is proably related to that.
