I keep getting calls from this number. Silly me~~~~~I thought if you called someone and they never answered you would stop calling. Maybe it's just me. In addition to that.......they never leave a message. Even more annoying!!!
To fill some of you in, in case you didn't know, there are work from home jobs that pay a telephone solicitor $.xx for each call they place and can document that they had made the call. Bear with me because this is really funny that the proverbial spam makers are being conned by the people they hire to bother us.
I just got one of these calls from this number 417-429-0748. As soon as I answered the phone, they asked for Fred and I said, "This is he!" They immediately hung up. This tells me that I was inconvenienced for a few seconds in order to get the satisfaction of knowing one of the idiots that wanted to have someone bother me was taken to the cleaners and had to pay for nothing. I believe this is one of the groups that solicit based on a call list they purchase from employment firms such as career builder or monster because these are the candidates to buy additional education so that they can get employment.
Once they have bothered me one time like this, I put their telephone number in a list for an app I downloaded such as Mr. Number. It will allow me to configure the app to do such things as screen the caller ID and if is says "Private Number" or using their data base and identify it as potential spam, I can select to have the phone "hang up" on them and all I ever get then is a one ring call and it hangs up on them. Most unknown numbers I send to my voice mail. If they don't leave a voice mail, I didn't want to talk to them anyway. I have created a group of known callers that I designate as "Do Not Answer". When this is recognized by the app, it is automatically forwarded to voice mail. If it's a valid caller wanting to talk to me, they'll leave a message, if not, I don't care anyway.
As I am building my database list of Do Not Call users, and others I designate as Do Not Answer, I'm beginning to think that I can possibly have an asset that I may be able to sell to my fellow cell phone users that will eliminate the need to duplicate the work over and over again. Doesn't this seem to be poetic justice that we can use the technology which has been selected buy these greedy people to turn the tables and get even with them.
