A man with a foreign accent has called, even though I'm on the Do Not Call list and I've asked him before to quit calling me. He wants to repair my computer. Why would a lumber company want to repair my computer ?
The caller identified himself as a rep from Microsoft Windows Tech Department and offered a way to cure problems on my computer. He instructed me to type in "eventvwr" as a "cmd" command under Windows. Before I clicked "Ok" to accept the command, I found a web page from Micrsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx). The page warns that cybercriminals would pretend to be Microsoft's employees and put virus on personal computers. After reading the article, I told the caller that he might be a cybercriminal and he then handed up the phone.
