This number called saying that I was qualified to receive a rewards card because of some recent transactions I made. However they needed my Visa card number because I had to pay a $4 activation fee first. Is this a scam?
• There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
• If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
• You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, or a grant from a gracious government
• The tooth fairy really does not exist
• Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
• It is illegal to pay money for a loan or prize, BEFORE getting the loan or prize!
• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you "green dot" or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Greeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse.

Yes, it is a scam. Thanks to our elected royalty, federal, state, and local, and their appointed minions who are more interested in amassing personal fortunes, power, and photo opps, these scams will continue. The only way to put these scammers out of business and behind bars is to stop eating the swill our two party system ( Let's see, do I vote Democan or Republicrat? Manure by any name is still crap!) and vote all incumbents out of office and replace them with ordinary Joe's and Jane's, not lawyers, the greedy wealthy, regular people with regular lives who will pass laws void of loop-holes, make certain these laws are enforced - period. Four choice for any election: 1. Democan, 2. Replicrat, 3. Business as usual, 4. NONE OF THE ABOVE!
