"Shantel from the Parade Store" called. I have a call record app on my phone which records perfectly both parties on call. As California law requires notify of recording, I stated "Just for notification, all calls to my phone are recorded. If you do not want to be recorded, please hang up now." To this, the woman apologized for the call and I hung up.
The caller asked if I wanted to buy a back brace. I refused to engage in a conversation, but this lady with a foreign accent wanted my information to "remove" my telephone number from their system. I kid you not. This was clearly a scammer.
A lady with a foreign accent called saying she worked for "The Brace Store", and stated she understood I was looking for a back brace. Due to the fact, I do suffer from severe back issues and had previously called a Brace Shop from a television commercial, but didn't at the time, order a brace. I assumed it was same company calling me back. I could hear others talking in background, which sounded like a call center. This woman begin asking me for information such as my medicare number, address. phone number. The whole time I was talking to this woman, I was skeptical. And even told this woman, "I'm not supposed to give this info out on phone". She remained quiet. However, I was then thinking, "If this brace would help with my back pain, then it'd be great! I also thought, it must be legit or why did she say, "I understand you are looking for a backbrace"? I asked her about a prescription from a Dr. to get the brace, she then stated, "There was an in house Doctor that would cover the prescription".
She asked what would be a good time to call me back? I told her the next day after 4pm. Well, here it is,8 4 days later and I haven't received a call. As a matter of fact, I thought about it that day and just knew, I was not, only scammed, but screwed probably for the rest of my life. I called the number she gave me. It wasn't too, a brace store. I immediately called Medicare andthe Social Security Administration, to report it. I also need to go make a police report, according to what research I've done in such a really messed up situation bîto this one. I should have listened to the voice telling me not to give my number. But, was wondering how she knew I actually jkihad a bad back? I know now that this woman asks everyone this question. As, many Americans do suffer from bad backs. I may pay for this huge error in judgement for the rest of my life. My anxiety level is overwhelming!!!

I've had 7 surgeries have implants etc.
