Received call on answering machine today. Lady claimed that my husband had a large chek her law firm could recover for (then she mumbles) w/FEE. Ya right chick. You can tell it's a scam because the lady caller talked STUPID.
I received a call from Olsen Law Firm out of Chattanooga, TN with the same story about a check for $175,000. They wanted a small processing fee of $500 plus dollars and then they would send the check. The girls name was Stacy Cooper. She kept covering up the phone and asking someone questions. Big scam! She called from 423-475-7657.
Said the Bank of Americas number was 202-239-0095 and the check # 0347927 with ID # 8855
The check was supposed to be from American Shoppers.

I received a call from an unknown company. The lady said her name was Kyla Byrd and that they were retained to contact me because they had a check for me for 175,000 from American Shoppers Network. She gave me a number (supposed to be Bank of America) with an ID # 8855 and check # 0347927. I called that number and the person answered "Bank of America" then gave me a confirmation number #541K037DM. I was to call back the legal firm with that number and they would help me get the check re-issued.
This is a scam I am sure.
Relevant phone numbers are 216-640-7221 for Kyla Byrd and 202-239-0095 for the B of A branch. The 202 number traces to a wireless phone. The 216 number traces to an unlisted number.
