OMG at some of these comments!!! You DO realize that TennCare IS Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, right?! Anyway, TennCare is just the name of the BCBS plan that you are on. You don't have to be financially disadvantaged for an insurance company to call you with an automated message reminding you to stay current on your check-ups!
It's not a finance department or bill collector!!!
Calm down & hit ignore! Or better yet, send them an email and ask them to take you off their calling list. FYI, the DNC list doesn't apply if you agreed to receive calls (probably from checking a box or "initialing here" without reading the entire statement) from a company whom obviously provides health services to you.
I have received multiple calls from this number, they have not left a vm. I did call back after seeing this thread and realizing it was BCBS. The rep I spoke with could find no reason why they were calling me in their system. Ironically, the number called me again while I was on the phone with her.
This call is legit. Its from Blue Cross Blue Shield. The insurance companies now provide case works for each patient. They feel if they can help or provide information to a patient they can save money by providing preventative measures to keep people well and alleviating the need to visit an ER. They also try to make sure you are getting the care that you need, which may not always be prescribed. Its kind of a win win. They save money you get an advocate for your health.... Not for me though, I dont need another person to nag me about my health.
I received a call from this number this morning. It was an automated call from TennCare population Health Services. They are a part of TennCare that helps population with wellness and ongoing health conditions.
