They called this morning and told me I had won a 1000$ shopping spree, and then asked me for my age and occupation. When I replied that I was an unemployed college student they very nearly rushed to end the conversation.
I called back later (it took many tries) and got another woman, who identified the company as Publisher's Services. She went through the entire song and dance with me regarding the shopping spree, saying I was chosen because of my preferred status with a credit card line (funny, because she didn't mention MasterCard, which is what I have), but elaborated that I was not eligible to receive the promotion because I was unemployed.
I've heard from around the web that they usually try to sell outrageously expensive magazines as part of the offer. They probably do this after determining your employment status (maybe a legal issue? Not sure why they need a job for magazines).
Anyway, that's my testimony.
this # called my phone and left a singing message that i quote " it's all about the money?"
dunno what the means... have been trying to call back...no answer...someone needs to do something this sucks!
