Do not care what anyone say about it being "legit" the call origin is being spoofed with CHATTANOOGA TN instead of a business name, so they are scammers to me, no matter what they do after they get you on the line.
I just tried to call and confirm the number as well. They young woman handling my call said they didn't have the capability to check if a number belonged to them or not.
I'd suggest everyone go ahead and call requesting confirmation - so maybe CVS will ultimately make that ability to check available to all their telephone staff. I will also be filing a complaint with Medicare & the Do Not Call folks, since the number that called was both automated AND could not identify WHAT prescription it was calling about!
CVS would KNOW!
UPDATE - this is NOT a CVS number. I called and confirmed it is the INSURANCE side of their partner company CVS Caremark/SILVER SCRIPT. Silver Script is an insurance company with a Medicare contract. HOWEVER, the Silver Script employee that researched the outgoing number of 423-822-2465 had that on a warning list with them as a BAD NUMBER, whatever that means. The number that it leaves on your answering machine asking you to call back: 877-766-9481 *IS* their automated message relay number, but he shows NOTHING in the system that would have triggered that call for ME.
Bottom line - if you're getting these calls & they are not for you, call CVS at 1-800-SHOP-CVS or Silvrscript/CVS Caremark at 866-236-1069 and have them research the calls to get them stopped.
This is truly CVS Pharmacy. Had message yesterday, called them back today and they were contacting me on my seasonal prescription that needs to be refilled.
The caller knew my name and said to enter my birthdate. If this is, indeed, CVS, then they should identify themselves in the beginning. I have never gotten a call like this from CVS/Caremark. The always leave a return-call phone number if I do not answer. So I'd say even if it is legit, I would not give them my date of birth without knowing who it is.
