I got a call yesterday. The man with a strong heavy accent called claiming he is from the IRS investigation dept by the name of Jeff Brown. He gave a badge and all. He asked me for my name as I did call back. I gave a made up name and a random address. He proceeded to tell me I owe the IRS $8000 and that I needed to pay or go to court. Pretty much intimidating me so that I could pay over the phone. Little did he know that I was going to ask for a letter with the IRS letterhead and a 1800 number that I could call in and be transferred to such department. He ended up hanging up. Don't give in and DO NOT GIVE PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION!!!!!
