Caller ID: UNKNOWN NAME Machine answered and male, thinking he had a live one on the line, launched into his spiel. Said hello, my name is Michael with the OC Register and asked how I was. After there was no response, poor Michael hung up. If legit, why the blocked CID?
I got two calls tonight within a matter of minutes. Caller id showed Beverly Hills, CA. I quickly picked up the second time they called to see who it was. The caller had my name and address and said she was calling to let me know they would be delivering the Sunday San Diego paper at no cost to me. She verified my information and wanted my email address which I told her I don't give out to people who call me that I don't know. She said that was ok and then asked if it was ok if her supervisor verified everything. I told her I had no problem with that. The supervisor came on the line and verified everything and asked for my email which I told her the same thing. She mentioned "on going" deliveries of the Sunday paper and I questioned her as to if they were all free or just the first one and she told me they were all free that they would never ask for a penny from me....we will see how this goes.
Have received 9 calls from this number in the last 21 days. I finally added it to my block call list. They always ask to talk to my wife, when I tell them no and ask if I can take a message, they hang up.
I have been getting calls from this number for at least a month, sometimes twice a day. I don't bother answering my phone unless it's important enough to speak to me and leave a message. As the answering machine starts with it's mwssage, the other line hangs up. I searched the number and saw that it's from Beverly Hills.
