You can't stop these kinds of illegal calls. Don't pick up. let it go to answering machine. If you have a caller I.D do not pick up, it only serves to inform them that yours is a working number. There is nothing you can do, this person who is bilking millions from these scams has been fined and baned from certin states, he is not going to stop, so please just don't answer.
I have been getting these stimulus calls for years, why don't they stop them. I keep reporting the number and I am on the DNC list but it doesn't seem to make a difference. There needs to be a better way.
Dec. 14, 2012 - Phone rang, machine picked it up, insipid music came on, voice stated I was caller #9 and thanked me for my patience and please wait for the next representative. More music, another voice came on, now I'm #7 and so on and so on for over 3 minutes! Finally after being 'first in line', a male voice came on stating he was from some business I could not understand and his name was Nick Williams. Then it disconnected. What a crock! And we are on a 'do not call' list.
