OK, everybody can stop blaming politicians for all the Medicare calls. Ridiculous! I'm sure they all have more important things to deal with. IRS or Social Security (can't recall which one) can take the blame. After 2015 taxes were filed, depending how you answered the healthcare question, a letter was sent out to all these Medicare providers letting them know what taxpayers may be in need of insurance. I'm sure they weren't supposed to send out these letters for people who had coverage for all of 2015. But I know they screwed that up because I had coverage for the full year, yet they sent notification to all the providers indicating I was in the market for health insurance. I also got a letter from them. I actually spoke to a healthcare provider who explained what happened. I checked my taxes and verified that I marked the box indicating I already had insurance. So if I erroneously received one of these letters, it's obvious IRS or Social Security sent them out for the wrong people. So like everyone else here, I've been overwhelmed with calls. I hope this helps, although knowing it isn't going to stop the calls. Good luck.
I wish blocking would do anything about this. But the callers have so many numbers at their disposal that they will switch to a new one and never again call from the last one they used.
