Got a voice mail from these people claiming that they were trying to collect on a (not real) debt, and that I had about a week to respond to avoid their law suit. Their “scare-talk” sounded strangely familiar – like that “New Leaf Solutions, LLC” had used in the past. Turns out the number they used was apparently one that “New Leaf” had used until they closed that business last year, and re-opened under their new name. Washington State has a great WEB site for Checking out business licenses. Take 2 Holdings, LLC does have a current business license, but not a collection agency license. The state of Washington is pretty clear on collection activities. Use the State's information, not what Take 2 will tell you to determine if their activities are legal. “David Scott”, their “legal representative” appears to not exist as far as a license to practice law is concerned. Perhaps he's a paralegal, but paralegals are prohibited from practicing law in Washington state, according to the Washington State Paralegal Association and state law. There is much information available on Take Two Holdings, LLC. Including their business license number, federal tax id number, business address, owner's names, etc, etc.. Google maps and the Everett, Washington tax rolls provide a nice picture of the building they apparently rent. Doing a “Google” search on the owners reveals much more about these people. For some interesting related reading, the Federal Trade Commission, the Washington State Department Of Revenue, the Snohomish County courthouse and the City of Everett all have decent WEB sites.
Got a call from a David Scott with Take 2 Holdings at 425-212-1563 claiming that I have a outstanding debt with a vendor that I cleared up several years ago and threatened to put a lean on my house if I did not settle with them. I got the same call from another agency last year called New Leaf Solutions which is no longer in business trying the same scam which I blocked the # and never heard from him again. He said that he would only take a debit or credit card or a check from me to settle. I told him he was crazy if he thought I would give him any of my bank or credit card information. He then proceeded to give me his routing number and bank number and wanted me to go to his bank and deposit the money, total scammer. No money too the scammer.
