An automated call from "Sprint". They got my name right and warned that my account was past due and would be shut off if not paid in 48 hours. They then gave an option to pay immediately. This has to be a phishing scam because my account is current.
Recording claimed to be collecting on an account for somebody named McCarthy.
Suspect it's NOT Sprint, since all different callers say they're looking for somebody McCarthy.
Seems like it's just one tele-scam company using the same name no matter who they call or who the scammers claim to represent.
Their scam is this- While they claim to be collecting a debt, they ask you to verify who you are so they can stop calling. BUT once they've got ANY INFORMATION out of you, new calls start asking for YOU. And the scams continue. THEY ARE PHISHING.
I just got a call from this number. It was a recording stating that it was Sprint calling because there had been changes made to my account. I knew that this could not be true, so I immediately hung up and called Sprint. They checked my account and there had been no calls made to my number by them. THIS IS A SCAM!!! People like the one's who called are trying to retrieve your information so they can get your account infromation.
