I missed a call and called this number back. The recording said I may owe back taxes to the IRS. If so, I could press 1 and talk with a representative. I don't owe any back taxes, so I just hung up.
rec'd a call on my cell at 9:23am, April 21, 2012, from 425-390-8148. I did not answer, and the caller left no vm. My cell displayed "Call" while it was ringing, and I never answer my cell when it displays "Call", and they usually don't leave a msg. Then I search the internet for the number that displayed in my missed call log and the search always results in it being a spam number. I understand from other reports that answering or calling the number back, results in the spammer knowing the number is legitimate and that brings on a barrage of calls, from that point forward. Also, no point in putting your number on ANY 'DO NOT CALL' list, because those lists eventually get sold, or hacked or shared with 'affiliates'.
Definitely Spam.
Has been calling my Verizon cell for days now. Never leaving a message and calling at different times of the day. I am trying to find a way to block them.
Just found a feature on my verizon account that allows you to block calls. Just log on to "my verizon" go down to the different service boxes and find call blocking.
you can enter a phone number to be blocked for up to 90 days. It's not the best solution but it will work for now. :)
