Same thing with me. Called wanting to lower my "visa" card rate. They would not tell me my name, account number. I do not have a Visa card. Then he switched to my "MasterCard." I said "How do you even know you are talking to the right person?" What is my name? He just said I have a balance on my Visa/MasterCard and then hung up. Ugh!
Like many, they called to lower my credit card rates. Unfortunately, I don't have ANY credit cards.
I listened to the entire recording, which told me to press "1" at the end, so I did. The first thing I heard was a man speaking Arabic (or another Middle Eastern language, though not Hebrew or Yiddish.) I replied with "Pardon?" and he switched to broken English and asked for my name. I replied instantly with, "I don't have any credit cards, so..." He hung up.
Total scam. And if I ever make my way out NW (the call came from seattle) I've got some paperwork to serve them.
Caller stated they could lower my credit card rate to 6.0%. I asked which credit card??? and they were unable to provide me with my details of the credit they were talking about. They asked how much was my combined balanced on my credits and gave me an unfamiliar dollar amount. I said no way, you do not know what the heck you are talking about and then I hung up.
