We don't answer these calls but they keep coming and coming and COMING. I just found this page and obviously, this is some really odd form of scam. Has anyone had the callers give up? PROD is the right name!
Id says "Keswick Prod", and before I blocked it, I picked up and said hello several times. Some dufous criminal claimed to be calling on behalf of disabled vets. Well right, with spoofed ID that seems unlikely. This scam is part of the credit card service scam group. Calls from a variety of spoofed numbers, and the chucklehead who tends to be on the line (if we happen to pick up) has quite the attitude (if nothing else, he is completely sexist). Have been blocking this group for years, but since they spoof numbers, and change them so often, it seems like a lost cause.
i recieved call from 1-434-227-4069. When I said hello, they hung up. I called them back, he said he was calling on behalf of homeless and disabled vets. Very forceful, said no thanks, don't call me again or I will report you, and hung up.
I am a Disabled Veteran. I know the Disabled Veterans groups do not call for donations By phone, This is a they keep 90% and telemarketers keep the rest for themselves.
Called the number shown on the caller ID - 434-227-4069
Got recorded message made by a woman who said that her phone number had been spoofed. She seemed understandably quite upset about it, if her number had indeed been spoofed. She said she has been trying unsuccessfully to get the Seattle Police and/or T-Mobile to help track down the scammers. Not sure why Seattle --- 434 is not a Seattle area code.
