434-555-0130--Dir Asst VA showed up on my screen- I waited until the 3rd ring and picked up the phone and said "THE NUMBER YOU HAVE REACHED IS NOT A WORKING NUMBER" then hung up & did not wait until the person on the phone talked. It takes awhile but I have gotten rid of many a phone call.
I feel much satisfaction..Hope that would help someone else getting all these scammers.
got a call from a foreign sounding male telling me there is "something wrong" with my computer and asking me to hit "control r" and tell him what I saw-I said that I saw a flashing sign in red letters that said SCAM -he hung up
A call from some foreign [***], saying that my computer has a virus. Control*alt* and some else. Then asked what I saw on the screen. I told him it was a picture of his MOMMA, Three Midgets and a goat naked in bed. he then called me some name that I didn't understand, but I knew it was bad and then he hung up.
Foreign female voice asking to speak to me. I said speak louder, when I asked for her phone # stating I will call her back, she said someone will call again this afternoon. At which point I FIRMLY shouted that if she calls again I will call the police. She said she represents and insurance company!! PLEASE stop bogus calls!
This is the second call today the fist from "Microsoft maintenance department"
First number - 630-555-0148
Women with a foreign accent told me she was with Microsoft Maintenance department. She says to me "You do have a computer with Windows right?" I said yes I do have a computer but I do not run Windows. She got quiet.. I said I run Linux. Then she hung up on me. She didn't want to play anymore =) (I do run windows but come on lady I can smell a scam)
Second call from - 434-555-0130 and Googled it to find out its the same thing. I called back to tell them to stop but I only get a busy signal. This worries me for the older generations that do not realize this.
