I was contacted today. Basically the same. They had my employer my last four digits ssn and said it was advanced America which I've never taken a loan out but back on that date someone tried to use my info to obtain a loan through money tree I think is the name. I was freaked out because I remember this happening back in 2012 so I looked at my statement and confirmed to them I also said I was going to have my bank contact them to prove it, which she didn't sound happy about. I watch my credit report like a hawk and have no collections with this company against me or anyone.
Scammers claiming to be from "pre-litigation department" but won't say what company. Threatens that if I or my attorney doesn't call back then I forfeit my rights to representation and a lawsuit will be entered in my name. (their words, not mine). Refuses to provide written proof of the "debt" or anything having to do with the debt.
Do not give this jerk any information. I just received a message from 4:49 today on a land line my cable company had me on for two years that I just decided to hook up a phone to Sunday for when I have bad reception on my iPhone in my house. Nobody even knows my number, it's not tied to me in whitepages.com. I knew something was weird. Totally rude message. I used to be a court reporter for 10 years, knew just from the threatening yet very uninformative message it was a scam.
I got the same message. Except he said his name was Joseph Anderson with the pre-trial diversion program. FIRST of all, both parties have to be present in court before the judge sentences the defendant to a pre-trial diversion program. This Joseph guy didn't even state what company he was calling from or a case number to reference. If anyone else gets a call from this number and gets kind of spooked, I'd suggest you do a search for your name on your local county clerks website. I searched for mine and there is no case against me whatsoever
