I have started logging each number they call from on both my home and cell numbers into my contacts. Bad People 1, Bad People 2, etc., etc. That way I never pick up their stupid calls. Hopefully someday someone will get them to stop, but nothing I personally have done has ever worked.
During the month of November I received 8 calls from Portfolio Recovery. Today I received the above mentioned call.. the calls were:731-984-7690,731-215-8010,205-423-4020,205-588-8181,757-961-3544,757-961-3547,407-347-4014,404-392-5171. They can use these numbers from anywhere and also use fictitous names that sound real.We do not answer a call we don't know and I keep my fax machine on to discourage them.
Just missed a call from this number and they did not leave a voicemail. Maybe I will call them back and see why they are calling me and to tell them not to call me again, considering that I do not have any unpaid debt.
These bottom feeders are hilarious. They buy old, old debt and try to collect on it. I have bankruptcy discharged over 17 years ago and they are trying to collect on it. They call, but don't leave msgs because I don't answer calls that I don't recognize. I have all numbers blocked or listed as "ignore" on my phone...about 15 of them now.
Don't call them back....they are idiots and they use illegal tactics to get info or scare you into payment arrangements. They have lawsuits and major complaints filed against them from all over the USA. Beware and don't talk to them, etc.
Its amazing how many different numbers they call from. I too do not answer numbers I do not know. Idiots!! And of course they never leave a message. I save the numbers in my phone as "do not answer"!!
