I received a call today & it states to press 1 if you want your interest rate lowered. I pressed 1 & a man answered asking me if I had pressed 1. I said yes then asked him which specific credit card he was calling from & he states they were calling on behalf of Visa/Mastercard. I immediately hung up knowing this is a scam because interest rates on set by the individual issuer of the credit card & NOT Visa/Mastercard.
This is a "Interest Rate" reduction fraud. I guess they are using a new Caller ID number. When I told the lady she was lying and I had it on tape, she got indignant; poor child. Texas is a one party state so we can tape. They claimed "Mastercard" was lowering the interest rate which isn't true. Mastercard doesn't set interest rates, the individual banks do.
They called, I didn't answer. Nuff said LOL. No caller ID and I will not answer. When will these fishers just give it up? Usually this call is followed by another from Canada and another from California within about 5 minutes of each other.
