There's a "charity' that calls itself "Breast Cancer of America". They may have changed their name over the years. Researchers have reported on this site that, according to the BBB, they have reported donations (over the years) of $45 million, while reporting actual charitable "pay outs" something like $140,000 to somewhere like $187,000 !!! Unless I'm REALLY mistaken, they have stated their maximum individual payout will never exceed $500 !! In the words of that famous philosopher Al Capone "... what a racket!!". Geezus !! Even if this 'BREAS CANCER AM is the same as "Breast Cancer of America" - which I doubt, they are, separately and collectively, a bunch of criminals ! "Collecting" for "breast cancer" sounds, initially, like a real "hot button issue". But, what does "collecting for Breast cancer" REALLY even mean ? Looks like it REALLY means lining the pockets of a few schmucks. I don't trust any of them. I received a call from some (anonymous) female who claimed to be calling for "breast cancer". I told her that, when she starts calling for prostate cancer, to call me back !! She then got really sh*tty, and hung up. Yeah, real professional !! When you "unmask" these people's real character, the person "behind the mask" comes out !!
They most certainly are not legitimate. CID only states BREAS CANCER AM. Didn't answer their call and no message left. These are nothing but scammers trying to get credit card and/or personal information. If you're stupid enough to give them your credit card number, or worse yet, your debit card information to make a small, say $10 donation, check your accounts a little later and you'll find you've been wiped out of all available credit and/or money in your bank account. Don't be fooled by these thieves, they're nothing but scamming criminals out to make you a victim.
Definitely an unregistered robo dialer caller. Certainly suspect, but may be legit charity. However, remember to ask how much of the donation you give actually goes toward benefitting the cause. You would be surprised how little out of every dollar you give actually benefits the cause they called about! Some times it is 5 cents to the dollar!!!
Caller ID states "BREAS CANCER AM" "BREAS CANCER"?? Obviously a scam. Obviously set up by some ignorant r*ghead for whom English is a second language ! My Gawd ! Now, they are using a "hot button" issue/charity to scam people ! They can't even spell BREAST for Chrissakes ! If this wasn't SO obviously a criminal activity, it would be "laughable". What a way to start my day !
