Just got a second call AGAIN.
Took the call yesterday and pressed 1 spoke with someone and actually went off yelling and cussing at them. They hung up. When they called back today I went along with it until she had to verify my information. I went along with it still until she asked for my phone # I stated you called me. She said that there auto dialer actually called and they did not have my number. I explained my first call and informed her that if she continued calling me ( I am on a do not call list ) I would file charges with the FCC for harassment and not following the Do not call list. She said that she would have to remove my number manually as there auto system is not working correctly. In my opinion this is a scam and we should all band together and file a class action law suit. But to who?
I continuously receive calls to install an alarm system. I speak with them and tell that that I already have one and they call back the next day. I some times hit "2" to have my number removed but they call back 2 days later.
I've got to where I turn my answering machine off and just look at the caller ID.....if it doesn't show a company, business, or person's name I know I let it ring.....and hope they get tired of it....I have several a day....even one yesterday from the American Heart Assoc., glad I didn't answer that one because it seems I'm the ONLY one in our community who can do their mailouts!!!! I've done it a couple of times and have told them it's time for someone else to take the baton.....plus now I only donate to causes that do not hire an agency to do their calls...want my pitiful gift to go to where it's need, not to hired solicitors.
Relentless. They ignore the DNC list. They call cell phones and land lines. They ignore their own "press nine to be removed..." Nasty buggers if you tell them you already tried to be removed. Is there no government agency that can stop this absurd practice?
