Because my husband is sick, and gets supplies from all over the country, I answered the phone only to hear a telemarketer talk about how my house was chosen for a free alarm system. As soon as I heard that, I hung up.
The usual comments: "How can I stop these calls?" You can't. But,. you CAN not answer. Most of us believe if they don't leave a message they aren't legit. I know of a legit hospital billing service that doesn't leave messages.
"Why do I get these calls when I'm on the Fed DNC list?" The DNC is not aimed at scammers; it's aimed at legitimate businesses and to let them know you prefer they not call you. Some outfits are exempt: if you've done business with them, charities (and apparently outfits that fund raise for charities).
Scammers can be stopped by reporting the calls at the FCC DNC web site. IF they get enough complaints and IF the complaints are made timely. Otherwise, the scammers move on to other numbers before they can be stopped.
"I hope they: die, choke, drown, get life in prison...etc" Ya might wanta turn down your ringer volume; or learn to chill; or get a prescription for Valium. Getting that upset over a phone ringing is terrible for your blood pressure. HTH
Sure as hell tired of these idiot calls,no message and all!Report any time these jerkwads call,the Consumers best line of defense is to report!Intollerence of harassing calls that are uncalled for.I once answered a call(naivety)wanting me to handle the overflo of Credit Card requests,3days later Target,Neiman/Marcus were hacked.The Clowns apparently got away with undisclosed amounts of money,but more import they got a tremendous amount of info!That kind of Crap just sicken me when they should get off the lazy train and quit thing about ways to do,in many cases,irrepreperable damage to the innocent consumers!Justice will be blind yet swift when lady justice comes calling on them!Then we.ll see who is so damned cute and lazy!
