This number has shown up on my Caller ID the last two days, with J Michel being the caller. I never answer the phone if I don't recognize the number, so I just let the answering machine pick up. Of course, they don't leave a message. Hopefully, they'll quit calling when they see that I don't answer my phone for them.
I have had several calls from a diabetes supply company (not sure it is the same #) and asked them to put me on their do not call list. There was a lot of noise in the back ground - seems too unprofessional to be a legitimate business.
I have had 4 calls from this number in the last few days where no one was on the line(7/24/2014 5:08PM, 7/25/2014 9:32AM, 10:09AM, 10:43AM and 7/29 2:47PM - all pacific standard time). When I called the number, I got a fax-like tone.
458-201-2338 called me today. The name listed was Michel J. I picked up the phone. A man with a far east accent said he was from Microsoft. He said Microsoft had been receiving error messages from my computer. He wanted me to know the error message (his accent made him hard to understand and he was not very communicative) and asked me to sit down at my computer. I was to hold the Windows key and press R. The RUN window popped up. Then he wanted me to enter a code. I refused and asked him to connect me with a service rep in the USA. Within a few seconds I was disconnected.
I think this was a scam and Microsoft needs to be aware.
This number calls me all the time. They say they are from Microsoft and my computer is going to crash and always try to have me download an app so they can have access to my computer to fix it. Ridiculous..
